Character Bios – The Solstice Treaty

The Solstice Treaty features many characters from both this world and the EverShade. Here are the main and a handful of the supporting characters…

Main Characters

	Luke Steele Our male protagonist, Luke Steele is a ranger within the West Virginia Department of Forestry. Orphaned in his teens, Luke has grown up, and still resides in, Beaver Hollow and while he has visited many big cities, he prefers his jungles not made from concrete. Plagued by preternatural visions of otherworldly combatants, Luke must discover the connection between these hallucinations and a terrible plan that was set into motion during the fading days of World War II.
	Tess McCoy Tess McCoy, our female protagonist, left Beaver Hollow many years ago, taking with her a shameful secret and Luke Steele’s heart. A former Captain in the US Army, Tess now resides in Charlottesville Virginia, serving as a special intelligence analyst, providing recommendations to the Pentagon on satellite surveillance data and tactics of foreign ground forces. Following the death of her brother, Tess must return to Beaver Hollow and face the very things she has spent a decade trying to forget.
	Fritz von Ehrlichmann Director of Inland SD and in charge of Cultural and Religious Matters, Fritz von Ehrlichmann is a high ranking Nazi officer under the rule of the Führer, Adolf Hitler. Fritz aids the war effort by deciphering ancient writings and directing the Ahnenerbe, an order created to harness not only natural but supernatural forces. When the SD ascertains an unprecedented ‘anomaly’ in a small French town, Fritz puts into motion an unholy plan to secure victory for the Third Reich.
	Takashi Okahara Takashi Okahara is the president and CEO of Yokoto, Co., a global gaming company that designs, manufactures and places gaming devices in casinos and gaming parlors throughout the world. The billionaire is the son of a decorated World War II hero whose passing planted the seed of relentless revenge. As such, Mr. Okahara has spent his life searching for a modern day occurrence that has only been recorded one time in the history of the world—and that at the hand of a merciless Nazi officer.
	Captain John Roberts Commander of the 517th Parachute Regiment Combat Team, John Roberts receives impossible orders while flying over Nazi-occupied France in the summer of 1944. What he does know is that his mission is to discover why the Germans have heavily fortified an insignificant chateau in an insignificant French town… and destroy it. What he does not know is that a mind-bending madness lies in wait for the Captain and his stalwart platoon.
	The Jack in the Green The Jack of the Green is the ruler of the Greenwood, a kingdom deep in the southern borders of The EverShade—an otherworldly realm beneath the World Tree. Clothed completely in summer colors, the demigod is a benevolent monarch and, since the death of the Solstice King, has been in Cold War with his brother The Jack of the Frost. It is Green, as he is known, who discovers a wayward couple has unceremoniously crossed into his land from the wilds of West Virginia.
	The Jack of the Frost The Lord of the northernmost territory within The EverShade, The Jack of the Frost is a demigod of much renown. Second son to the Solstice King and brother to The Jack in the Green, the ruler of all things winter is an imposing figure and enigmatic monarch. Clad in iron armor and deep furs, the man towers over all who call him Lord. It is said that cold winds blow incessantly through the mountain passes of The WinterWild before finding their home within his frozen heart.

Supporting Characters

	Miss Grace The matriarch of Beaver Hollow and Luke Steele’s grandmother, Grace is the epitome of a woman who will offer a person a listening ear and no-nonsense advice in equal measure. No one knows the comings and goings like Grace and her door is always open to anyone who knocks. Though not related to Tess McCoy, the elderly woman calls the wayward girl her daughter. Grace keeps Tess and Luke close but her secrets closer.
	Akio Nishimura COO of Yokoto, Co., Mr. Nishimura helped his friend Takashi Okahara build the gaming company from nothing to a trillion yen giant. While his daily duties involve securing contracts to place gambling devices in casinos worldwide, his secret mission is much more interesting—to discover unnatural seismic events and investigate their origins, no matter the cost.
	The Three It is obvious upon meeting them that Mr. Seo, Mr. Ozu and Mr. Eto are large well-dressed Japanese men who move as one and rarely, if ever, speak. What is not obvious, and known only to a chosen few, is that the Three practice Onmyōdō, a mystic art personally taught to them in the 6th century. What role these immortals play in this grand play, is yet to be seen.
	Elijah An anthropomorphic hedgehog living within the Greenwood, Elijah has been practicing medicine for over 4000 years. The small physician is one of the first constructs formed by The Jack of the Green and serves his master with unwavering loyalty. How such a small, faithful beast could change the course of history is anyone’s guess.
	Gideon Gideon is the Captain of the Winter Guard and holds a place of honor within the sacred halls of Snowden, the capital of The Winterwild. He is known for a quick temper and a quicker blade. That said, the man is a steadfast confidant to The Jack of the Frost, for in the northernmost reaches of the EverShade, there is no one the Lord of Winter trusts more with his tomorrows or his yesterdays.
